We just had a new electricity smart meter fitted from EDF, since then Internet keeps dropping on every device every minute. We have BT infinity and home hub 3 with a open reach router. Tried all usual trouble shooting such as restarting, factory reset etc to no avail. Called EDF they said smart meter signal is smaller than a mobile phone signal so it shouldn't interfere. These energy companies should warn us of such possibilities. Last resort is to maybe change broadband bandwidth channel.
Your modem should not be dropping internet connection because of smart meter. Do you mean the hub is dropping wifi signal to your devices? If so have tried changing channels on the hub wifi?

Update: changed channels in my wireless configuration settings from 6 to 5 and hey presto, no more problems. Perhaps the smart meter was using a similar channel, but it caused 2 days of chaos as our lives become more and more Internet dependent.
