Can SmartTalk be used on a non-SIM tablet?  That is, there is no mobile telephone number, only wifi.

There has to be an associated mobile phone number, which is used for the CLI.

I solved the problem by using a spare mobile phone with a sim card but ran the app on the tablet and when asked for mobile number used one on spare phone and when I got code on phone then I entered in the app on the tablet

you don't need the sim for smarttalk to work just a reference number so BT can log call against a mobile number linked to your account

Thanks for both replies.  CLI makes sense from a security viewpoint, pity though, my only mobile number already has ST on it.  Don't want to transfer it.

if you have a spare old mobile then just get a free sim and use that for a number  you don't need it after you have app on tablet and registered
