Hi
Can anyone tell me the maximum number of mesh Discs that a Smarthub 2 will support. The reason is that my Son in law will be upgrading his home to a smart home starting with the central heating system it currently has 25 Radiators, each of which would need to have a smart thermostat. The dwelling is 16th Century so all of the walls are built from stone (so not conducive to wifi penetration.
Many Thanks

25 radiators? Does your son-in-law own a castle? 😲
No, Just a large smallholding out in the sticks !!!!
Well, a large-holding really.
Any thoughts on the maximum design capacity for the number of Discs supported by a Smarthub 2
I was told 4 but it is a performance to get them.
Initially you get one supplied with the hub assuming this is the package you get (Black disks, complete WiFi, so you don't need one connected to your hub(
If this does not give full coverage you have to phone up and get another one.
If this does not give full coverage repeat the process.
HOWEVER if you are going to buy White disks, whole home WiFi (remember you need an extra one connected to the hub)
Maximum of SIX official Black "Complete Wifi". That's what the internal software supports within the MyBT App / inside the SmartHub2 itself.
So negotiate the first 3 from BT on their "Halo 1 with Complete Wi-Fi" package, and buy the further 3 off eBay.
You'll pay circa £65-£80 on eBay for Black v2.0 disc (with the new Circle logo). £100 directly from BT Retail for Discs 4-6.
Black v1.0 discs are identical, just have the older, colourful 2019 logo on them. Purely aesthetic, but they'll be slightly cheaper on eBay.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTES: the general BT White discs (3 variants depending on throughput and range with the "Premium White" being most expensive by far) are *******NOT******* compatible with each other, NOR can they be mixed with official Black "Complete" discs (which are equivalent of the middle variant "White" Discs).
Only the Black discs can be hung like a picture on a wall. White discs have to sit on a side table / mantlepiece etc.
Thank you for this great reply. I have ordered 3 extra disks 🙂
