Re: So I had an engineer visit and I'm not happy

Another thing I forgot to mention

As demand for FTTC increases in my area, the demand on the hot VP's obviously decreases, which when it gets to an unknown level, there is a good chance that the exchange upgrade will be reversed:(

To close this

I'm running at the absolute max.

What can be done has been done.

My options are to ride this out and see what happens as others move to Infinity, move to Infinity (25.2 max d/l) or I guess move away from BT.

Thanks to ELTC for their efforts, this has now been closed with them.

I hope it's the maintenance recently reported as I've just lost my BB - was off for 5 mins - solid orange light on BB - then back on.

Could a mod please double check?

How can my hub reset the amount of data received without me resetting the hub?

Earlier on today it was way more than the 0.1GB it's currently showing - the hub has been up for over 9 days!

ffs, it's done it againSmiley Mad

After 7+ days, the amount of data received has reset.

The amount transmitted has carried on counting as it did the last time.

edit.

I'm sure the times highlighted should always be the same, shouldn't they.......?

They should be the same.JPG

I have a hunch that the Connection Time is the time which the PPP Session has lasted. This can be reset without re-negotiating the ADSL link. It is the part of the connection which basically gets the IP Address from BTs' network over the recommended PPPoA or PPPoE encapsulation methods.

I think the ADSL uptime is the time which the physical ADSL link has been up for (How long your HomeHub has been synced to the DSLAM).

I could be wrong, but I've been able to renegotiate a new PPP session on my DG834GT when changing my credentials and/or changing the PPP encapsulation (When trying PPPoE from PPPoA) without having the ADSL Link reset. I'm not sure why a HomeHub would do this though - however I have had (For some reason) the PPPoA session reestablished by itself before without the line loosing sync.

As for your amount of data received, could it perhaps be resetting after it has reached a certain amount, or is it definately after 7 days? 🙂
