So installation has failed! Some help please!

The engineer has just left and he has done an excellent job. He switched my master socket to the one in the living room, rigged everything up nice so it all looks pretty. However, the HH3 won't sync, after about 2 hours on the phone he is told there is an "engineering" delay? But no one can tell him what the delay actually is! I have now been told that the connection should go live on the 25th and have been put back onto the old broadband. Could a Mod look into this for me? I would like an engineer out for when the connection goes live as it should only be a case of switching things back over in the cab again. The toils of being the first person on the cab! Thanks in advance.
