Socket for bband and phone

I'm decorating the living room so the box for broadband and phone has been taken off wall temporarily. Changes to the room mean a radiator will go where the box is. The cable from the main entry point/box into the house is fine as new position is actually closer. Am i ok to just move it or do i have to get BT out to do it (not fussed about resizing cable)?

Re: Socket for bband and phone

you cannot move your master socket that is Openreach property and is a chargeable call (£130) if it is an extension socket then you are allowed as extensions are your responsibility

You can move it, its not that hard. If you find it doesn't work when you put it all back together you will face a charge for bt to come and put it right though.
