Re: Spam

Received a strange spam email today, which is reported, using the BT Mail web application. It says that user has messages and is directed to a BT login, via a link.
It's an odd one...The old desktop PC rejected it using MS Outlook 365, but the newer laptop retained the mail, again using 365. It's clearly junk, as the link web address is nonsense. Both pcs are up to date, I think.

Be on guard!

Re: Spam

Looks like the spam problem is still rife. Been getting numerous spam McAfee, Norton and Bitcoin emails for a few weeks now, at least 3 or 4 a day! Getting a bit fed up with having to block senders and send them to the spam folder.

Re: Spam

Getting really fed up BT's  inept spam filter.

For years Yahoo did a decent job of keeping spam filtered, the changeover to BT has driven so much spam into my inbox its ridiculous. No matter how many times I flag the spam as spam, a week later and its back!!!!! WTF

Re: Spam

Go to solution

Hello

I'm new to the community and am searching for solutions regarding spam email and noticed this thread.

Over the last few weeks both myself (as main premium email account holder) and my wife & children (as sub-accounts) have been receiving a lot of spam email from a spoofed gmail.com account - the spoofed account is normally a string of random alphanumeric characters such as "*************** @gmail.com"

I see I can create my own message rules (under settings etc) to block emails from certain email addresses... however since these are random spoofed accounts can't BT's spam filtering deal with those as the emails are originating from an unverified/non-existing email account with this structure?

Thanks

Gary

Re: Spam

Agreed

The last 2 weeks, there have been a ridiculous number of fake McAfee emails coming though, completely undetected by the spam filter

This is a world wide problem which all ISPs including BT are suffering from and are working on a solution.

Re: Spam

My email account is being inundated with spam when I look on my BT account direct. Interestingly, when I look on my account  linked to Gmail there isn't any spam. Fault lies with BT's spam filter?
