Speed dropped below 1mb

goodmorning, 

i have been with BT for a number of years and not had a problem with the service, so far. 

We normally get around 7mb down speed but for the last two days it has dropped to about 1 mb and below taking ages to load a page. I have switched off my home hub4 and also my computers but it is still slow. I have checked my line and any faults in the area and there are none reported.

I know that sometimes it can be "tweaked" from BT end to improve the speed, 

Not sure where I go from here?

I have tried to do a speed test but as I am on an iPad it will not let me. I have downloaded an app and that gives me a speed of 1.4mb

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router you may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or if HH4/5 then go to troubleshooting then logs and you are looking for 2 line together when hub last connected to internet and they will show your connection speed and noise margin or if netgear enter 192.168.0.1). Then run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results ( do not reset the router).

are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

Thank you for your reply. I think I have done what you have asked and hopefully I have been succesful in attaching it to this reply. when i went into troubleshooting  it came up with "all" which is what i copied.

i copied it to a word document but i am unable to find out how to download it to here. i tried link image and found the file on my computer but when i try and copy it to this reply it comes up with an error code, so now i'm stumped.

AS I have mentioned , not had an issue until last couple od days, have checked 'line' and it's all ok, have tried reboot with no success, could the hub be on the way out? as it's a few years old now?
