MTBR = Mean Time Between Resyncs, how often you resync. I'd expect less attenuation at that distance. The errors in the router really don't mean anything, they are part of the technology designed to give you error-free data flow. They also have nothing to do with DLM. If you don't get disconnected or lose data over the network than they are working as intended.
Lowering your noise margin will improve your speed but will introduce more errors. If you're on Fast that may bad.
I am indeed on fast path.
So the noise margin reduction has been actioned however I am now a very confused bunny
Attenuation and power levels unchanged both up and down stream.
Down stream noise margin down to 3db from 6db (as expected)
Downstream speed up to 15.3Mb/s from 13.4Mb/s (as expected)
Down stream errors accumulating at the same speed as before, so no impact on error rates (very good news)
Upstream margin now on 5.2db (very minor change from before)
Upstream speed unchanged at .744Mb/s (absolutely no change whatsoever)
Upstream errors also no change in the error rate
Surely an enforced 3db noise margin would be applied to both up and down stream?
Why is the upstream not playing ball?

As a little addon to this, I have just done the BTw Speed Test and got the following results:-
1. Best Effort Test:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 14.1 Mbps For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4 Mbps-21 Mbps. IP Profile for your line is - 13.56 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.63Mbps Additional Information: Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps
So I have had a boost on the downstream but am still connecting at a higher speed than my Line profile.
Upstream has no change whatsover, identical numbers.......
Ah ha! We have a culprit at last!
Just had a very entertaining call with my old ISP (Virgin Media), according to their records due to line instability (a line fault since fixed) the upstream line speed was clamped! They have no record of this ever being cleared.........
Is it possible that this was actioned but never recorded at BTw, hence their records showing no line clamping having taken place?
