I've had email telling that I've had a speed boost - 50 up to around 67. Sounds good, but on testing speed, BT shows speed of 74, but 3 other speed test sites show speed of 40 - 45.
Desktop PC is wireless, in room next door to BT hub (small 1 bedroom flat). I've checked speeds with tablet, beside hub and beside PC and both speeds are the same around 38 (tablet has always been lower speed than PC.)
Why is there such a difference between what BT is telling me and other speed tests (Which, Speedtest.net and Broadbandspeedchecker) telling me?
Before increased speed, BT and other test sites were showing me the same results in 45 - 50 range.
I'm also having problems with interrupted connections - server unobtainable message, then suddenly appears. Don't know if this is same problem.
enter your phone number and post results remember delete number https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html
post hub stats if hh6 then advanced setting then technical log information
if hh5 then troubleshooting then helpdesk
Hope you can get info from this screenshot.
estimated range is basically max 80mb connection hub stats would help to confirm
Thanks. I've condensed stat info to save space. Hope it is still clear.

you are already moved to 80/20mb connection as can be seen from your stats
connection time is only 4hrs was that manual reset or hub dropping connection?
make sure you have turned off smart setup in hub
then split the 2.4/5ghz networks as that helps many with their wifi conenctions http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/56419/~/how-do-i-split-my-bt-hubs-ssid-%28wireless-ne...
I would also select the wireles channels manually instead of leaving it on auto select
you should be able to get a wfif analyser app for phone which will show you nearby networks and channels in use
Thanks. I'll have a go at doing this, although it will have to wait until later.
Not sure where 4 hours connection came from. I switched off hub to reset while testing speeds, but didn't think this was 4 hours ago.
I've had a look at the instructions, but am cautious about making changes to hub. My son will be visiting me at the end of the month and I'll ask him to have a look at your recommendations. He's more technology minded than I am. Your hints definately look like the way forward.
I did wonder if having a BT TV box also connected to the hub (via BT wireless extender) was slowing things down, but disconnecting the TV box made no difference.
Hi @Silver29 Post back and let us know how your Son gets on when he visits and checks your connection.
Cheers
John
