Speed way way down on normal

All January my broadband speed has been terrible - can barely stream videos in the middle of the night, can't download anything in the day etc.

The best way to describe my problem is that it is basically the same as grredford's problem in this thread - https://community.bt.com/t5/ADSL-Copper-Broadband-Speed/Speed-Problems-again/td-p/1139438

This is what I get from the BT Speed Test

The BT test that says what speed would be available where I live currently says 3Mb-7Mb range. Last night it said 6Mb-15Mb. Either way my speed is way below either of those and way below what I am getting compared to before Christmas.

Re: Speed way way down on normal

the problem in your link is totally different to yours - your profile is correct for connection speed whereas the poster in the link had a profile stuck at 2mb instead of 7.15mb

are there any problems shown for your exchnage http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/mso.php

Re: Speed way way down on normal

I have never checked my IP Profile before today. For all I know mine was 7Mb too.

There are no problems at the Walworth exchange.

I had to do a password override to get into my homehub settings, so the stats must have reset

Not connected to the test socket, never have done. Its just connected to the socket on the faceplate.

Using wifi, always have done.

Re: Speed way way down on normal

can you please try and connect your hub to the test socket and also repost your hub stats this time showing the hidden errors by clicking on the show more detail tab
the speed test should also be carried out using a wire connection as wireless is subject to to much external interference

Re: Speed way way down on normal

Connected it to the test socket and now everything below Output Power is 0/0, with everything else largely the same. Guess I should wait a little while and check the ADSL line status again huh

We don't have a wire to connect our computer to the HomeHub so can't test wired connection.

Re: Speed way way down on normal

with your attenuation you should be connecting at around 12 mb i would suggest you leave it in the test socket for a few days to see if it improves if not then the forum mods may become involved also the speedtest should always be carried out using a wired connection as wireless is subject to to much external interference

Re: Speed way way down on normal

I plugged it into the test socket when you said and nothing has changed.

Just ran a speed check and the download speed is 0.70mbps, ping was 321ms. The past few days it has been around 1.3-1.7mbps.

Here are the ADSL stats as of now..

Re: Speed way way down on normal

Your stats are still rubbish for your attenuation and would be better with mods help. They will post a contact us link when they read this post

After you complete the email following mod link it can take the mods 3/5 working days for them to get back to you either email or phone call - you will be in a queue od other customers waiting for mod help
