Speeds in Portrush - Northern Ireland are PAINFULLY SLOW

Seems to be a problem here in Portrush.

Tried doing a BT Speedtester, and got to the TaP3 stage where i had to change the Broadband username and the browser hung and crashed.  No i cant repeat it for another hour.

However, using Speedtest.net I get the following: (Never seen an IP starting with 31.XXXXXXXX)

Re: Speeds in Portrush - Northern Ireland are PAINFULLY SLOW

hey there yeah im in Omagh and my infinity connection seems to of bottomed out too since around 8pm 😕

ive done 2 bt speed tests with major varying speeds and speedtest.net is no diff some major differences in speeds too.

I did a trace to Bt.com and got this back

Tracing route to bt.com [62.239.237.1] over a maximum of 30 hops:

6   123 ms   124 ms   124 ms  217.32.27.182

7   170 ms   123 ms   123 ms  acc2-10GigE-0-2-0.mr.21cn-ipp.bt.net [109.159.25 0.194]

8   139 ms   130 ms   132 ms  core1-te0-3-5-0.ilford.ukcore.bt.net [109.159.25 0.141]

9   132 ms   134 ms   134 ms  core1-pos1-1.birmingham.ukcore.bt.net [62.172.10 3.89]

10   131 ms   132 ms   131 ms  iar1-gig5-4.birmingham.ukcore.bt.net [62.6.196.9 4]

11   129 ms   129 ms   131 ms  62.172.57.218

hop 6 seems to be the problem and ive seen the same ip causing probs in other speed problem posts ;/

Re: Speeds in Portrush - Northern Ireland are PAINFULLY SLOW

I'm in Edinburgh and mine has gone awful from today as well so maybe some in Scotland have the same issue? I did the speedtester as well but im not sure how to change the username or whatever to get the final result. Noticed performance issues while playing a game when I was getting like 100-300 ping to a server in London.

We are quite new to Infinity and this was how it was before.

Re: Speeds in Portrush - Northern Ireland are PAINFULLY SLOW

Im in coleraine and totally agree... my connection is more or less useless..  just ran this speed test:

Download speedachieved during the test was - 23880 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 12000-38714 Kbps .
 Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is -38714 Kbps

Its saying 22mb but speedtest.net is not going past 7mb with a ping of 151!!

Re: Speeds in Portrush - Northern Ireland are PAINFULLY SLOW

mmm, definately something up.

I was trying to find a BT Outages page that give info on known BT problems but couldnt see anything, and why should I sit on the end of a phone trying to tell BT that their service is faulty.  They should know and should be watching it.

Well i take part in the Samknows study, so hopefully these results will flag up.

I cant even get my speedtest run from BT cos their program froze!

Just spoke to a friendly BT guy - he fixed it for me!

Heres what he got me to do.

1) Press and hold the reset on the white Openreach box.

2) Turn off and on the BT Homehub

3) Do BT Speedtester and now im back cookin on gas!

This was my monitor graph earlier,

My Broadband Ping - FTTC

Then later after a reboot, things look to be improving slowly. My Broadband Ping - FTTC 2
