Hello bt community. I am making a post regarding an ongoing problem that has been mis-diagnosed several times by the bt help desk(0800). I have been told it is the line, my master socket, my router, my computers etc but changing ALL of the stated items has not helped.
I have had an engineer out to my premises who installed a new mastersocket, from my wall to the telephone line out at the back of my street, i have had severa; new homehubs provided, been told that the exchange will fix it for sure this time - that time, every time and yet nothing has changed.
A brief description of the problem; The internet will freeze, it doesnt drop the signal on the router, after several seconds, (usually 5-12 seconds on average) The problem will fix and wont occur again for 30mins or so. But, during the several seconds of lagg, everything stops, my voip program(ventrillo) My online games such as world of warcraft, battlefield, facebook games even. And my browser wont work either, basically a complete stop of all internet services, then after 7 seconds, all the programs sort of leap forward and catch up - i hear the past 7 seconds of conversation on the voip. My Ms(ping) in the games skyrockets whe n this spike happens, from around 20ping server side, to 300-400 even.
I was originally on a 8mb line, i did indeed have the problem on that line although it was less noticable on that speed, i recently got bumped up to 16mb line and the problem is 10x worse, it now occurs every 15mins rather than every 30-45mins.
I have done some of my own research to try and resolve this problem, and found out a thing or two regarding HEC and CRC numbers. so i have made a copy paste of my router ( 3hours after the router was restarted ) Please scrutinize and help me as much as you can, as the call line certainly isnt.

ah i did my research and found out what it is, nvm my foolish question, but one or two more are to come.
One, Will it adversely affect my online gaming?
Two, How can i tell if it is on?
Thankyou very much for your help john, after glancing at some screenshots i took on the 26th of august i see i hate interleaving ON and had 116000 fixed events as opposed to the 4th of september when it was set ~FAST~ and had 0 fixed.
Your response has helped and i clicked your little star thingy ^^
on hold at the moment trying to get it turned back on asap.
Hopefully this will resolve the issue, and i will update this thread to keep you in the know.
Wired, ethernet 😛
i have gone through all the procedures of resetting router etc, being wired not wireless and so on.
have called the support line and asked for interleaving to be enabled, was told that it would be around 1hr after the call. Women was a little taken back by what interleaving was though, she was determined i wanted to connect a device via wireless -.-.
