I have been having problems with download speeds being very slow. When I first signed up with BT I was getting good speeds of approx 7 meg, but after 3 weeks it dropped to between .5 and 1 meg.
An engineer could see that my line was capable of adslmax and that my router was connected at full speed, but I was only getting slow download speeds
He advised that a specialist diagnostic team would investigate and fix the problem with 48hrs because there was a problem within the software side of things at BT, like account set-up.
3 weeks later and the problem still hasn’t been fixed, but support keep phoning to say that they have fixed it and cant understand why I am only getting slow speeds of 1 meg at the most.
Here is the lastest results from speedtest.net
Any help would be appreciated
ddo aa speed test here Go to http://speedtester.bt.com/
and post results
this will show your profile which is the important bit and amore clear pic of stats I cant make out the attenuation
Yes it should so do the BT speed test to see your profile as that shows the through put you should get
you have an 8mb connection - 8128 is as high as you can get with adslmax. need the btspeedtester results but I expect your ip profile to be down significantly lower than it should be - should be 7150
as long as it is not 135 then it should be ok but it may be stuck if 135
Hi
Here are the results from BTSpeedtester. As you can see my IP Profile is 7150 which is good, but my download speeds are still rubbish.
Thanks
