Morning,
We have 6 Whole Home disks, latest firmware. connected successfully. Wifi works fine over the whole area.
DNS / DHCP is running on Windows Server 2008 R2. Discs have statically assigned IP addresses.
Gateway address: 172.20.0.1, router address, DNS server is: 172.20.0.51. Whole Home discs are on the same subnet (range 172.20.0.201 - 172.20.0.206) Gateway is set on the app to both of the above.
We want to have Guest Wifi for customers, and it just shows as connected - no internet.
I have seen this has been a long-reported issue, which has been promised to be fixed in various firmware updates, has it?
Many thanks
Adrian
if you want guest wifi for customers is this a business connection if so you need to post here https://business.forums.bt.com/
shouldn't have said customers ... "guests"
if you are a residential customer then you need to buy third party router to get that facility
I have a Zyxel router in place. This is a long standing bug on an advertised feature of the Whole Home system.
Hi @ade1982 have you followed these instructions to set up the Guest network on your whole home wifi discs?
Hi
Thanks for replying. Yes, I have. It shows up, laptop gets a valid IP address from the discs, but is not able to resolve DNS. Works as expected on the non-guest, core network.
It appears to be a similar bug reported in December here
Hi @ade1982 Sorry about that, have you been in touch with the helpdesk about this yet as they may be able to assist you in getting your guest wifi set up?
