I have phone and broadband with BT. This morning after recieving a phone call I tried to hang up the phone but wasn't able to. Since then when I try to dial out I get dial tone but the key tones and ringing are very faint. When I can the landline from my mobile the phone rings normally. However, when I pick up either end I only get a lot of buzzing and a distant engaged tone. I've tried a different corded phone and there's no difference. It's plugged into the master socket and there isn't any damage. The strangest thing is that my broadband coming over the same line is working flawlessly. I reported this to BT first thing this morning but haven't heard anything back and the online fault tracker hasn't changed since then either. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this?
