I seem to have developed a strange problem today with my email account. I am still on BTYahoo at the moment, but I noticed I had not received any emails today on either my PC (Outlook 2007), my iPad or iPhone. When I checked, all 3 give me the message "unknown username or password", but the strange thing is if I log on using the BTYahoo app on my iPad or iPhone everything works ok, and I'm able to retrieve my mail.
I haven't changed any passwords or usernames for a couple of months, and in fact they are all using the same settings. Is this likely to be a problem with the BTinternet service?. I am lothe to change passwords as the BTYahoo app is working ok.
I tried logging on using webmail on the BT site, and got the "many attempts" message and to change my password, which I've now done. However I still find it strange that the BTYahoo app was quite happy to let me carry on using the existing password.
