Re: IP Profile

So it can fall after a router restart basically? Am I to expect this trouble everytime the router is restarted eg after a powercut? Or is it only ffected by repeated restarts - as I have done recently due to airprint problems (now solved!)

Re: IP Profile

with adslmax if you restart your router at a lower speed or the connection drops to a lower speed then your profile will drop immediately as per the chart I posted.  however if your router reset again and reconnected back to say 'normal' speed your profile will take 3/5 days to get back to correct level assuming you remained conencted 24/7

Re: IP Profile

Result! Noise margin is now 6 and IP Profile is 4.5!!!!! One thing puzles me. My current router data is below. It would appear that the router was restarted just over 4 hours ago but don't know by whom. Certainly wasn't anyone in the house! Does it get restarted whenever the noise or IP Profile is altered? Im not complaining - t's the fastest I've ever had. Thanks for all your help.

Re: IP Profile

either noise margin or ip profile change will cause router to drop conenction and restart

can you post your new stats please

Re: IP Profile

keep a check on the errors crc/hec as they are high for such a short tme connected and may effect your throughput speed.  if you find browsing getting slow at night then a change to interleaved from fast will help

Re: IP Profile

Fast has changed to Interleaved but error figure is higher. Download speed remain good though. ANy ideas? Router still resets itself quite frequently it seems. Regards

Re: IP Profile

fec errors are not a problem as that is expected with interleaved.  just watch the crc/hec errors and error seconds.  I don't think the errors seconds didn't reset so not correct

Re: IP Profile

I don't know whats happening now! This is the latest. Is there any way the mods can sort this out please?

Download speedachieved during the test was - 1.9 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.4 Mbps-2 Mbps.
 Additional Information:
 Your DSL Connection Rate :2.66 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2 Mbps

Should this be happening so often? Don't understand why it can't stay stable once it seemed to have settled?

Re: IP Profile

looks like the errors have greatly increase and the automatic reaction is to increase your noise margin and drop your conenction speed.  are you still in the test socket?  is quiet line test ok?
