Afternoon,
Over the past two days our IP profile has dropped to 1.5 Mbps from 2.5 ish Mbps. The ping has gone from arround 30 down to 20 ish which is obv nice but id rathe have tht 1 Mbps dl speed back.
I'll paste in the details from test and router, anyone got an idea of why this would of happened? (lower ip profile, better ping less dl speed)

Recently our Connection has been dropping every time someone rings the house phone. It doesent happen everytime, on some days itl be fine but on others it will kill the connection garenteeable everytime. I am loath to go through the nromal method of ringing support etc as we have been through this situation many times without them actualy fixing it. I just get the normal answering questions off a sheet etc. The last time we had switched to vdsl but had to go back to adsl as the saleperson had failed to realise we were to far away from the cabinate to actualy get decent vdsl.
If you mean fiber to the cab then yes I'm aware of it. The issue is im over 3km from the cab. So I wont get tht speed ill get less speed than ADSL.
As I said above we tried FTTC a while a go and it was a flop due to the distance to cab.
Unless theve changed the protocols to the longer distance ones there's no point in me trying FTTC again
TBH I cant remember the exact speeds I should of got last time I checked. Yes we are very rural, Exchange is about 5km away and the cab is 3km away. LR-VDSL is indeed my last hope rofl.
Is there a way to check where the cab you are on is located? I am sure we use to be on cabinet 3.
edit: test showed cab 6
pe22 7hw
on the sybsey exchange
did a search on telecom-tariffs.co.uk but couldnt find mine
Ok so cabinet 6 seems to be a brand new cabinet. I would guess that your line has been shuffled around and now goes through this new cabinet.
The fact you say it previously showed you as cab 3 further backs this up. I'm not sure where it is but with your speed estimated it's probably within 1500m or so of you.
Might just be worth an order for total faster broadband again, you might be pleasantly surprised.
