Since I had to reboot my modem a few days ago, my connection speed has reduced by around 8mbit (Current throoughput always used to be 79999kbit/s) and about 20ms of latency has been added to all ping times (seemingly by the first or second hop). My attainable spped is still far above what my line now syncs at, but restarting the modem makes no difference, even leaving it off overnight.
I'm using a FritzBox 7490 which has been utterly superb up until now.

It looks like something is going on with either the first or second hop in my connection. I am on the Staines exchange.
Today things are even worse. Seems my cab has decided to throttle my connectioj even more even though the attainble rate is as it always has been above BT's current maximummdownlosd rate. I just need somebody who is able to reset the profile.
The BT Speedtester shows just how messed up it has become. Before this I've had years of everything syncing at the msximummpossible values.
Thanks for reading.
No. I use my own equipment. Currently a Fritz Box 7490. Previous to that a Draytek 2750n. I originally had the horrible white box and some ancient HH2/3 that I used for about a day.
It really does look like something is wrong with the equipment in the cab or exchange, especially given the added 15-20ms of latency added to everything.
Thanks for looking, but I don't accept that is the cause. I have used my own equipment for years, the Fritz Box has been in for months without issue. Suddenly added latency and reduced speed from nowhere.
If this had occurred shortly after I changed from the Draytek to the Fritz Box I may have accepted it as being at fault. But given how much time has elapsed since I installed the device I think it is a conveniant get out rather than the root fault.
