Hi
I am on a 8Mb/s BBand package and generally it works very well. We have, on average, a 5-6Mbps connection speed and this goes through a BTHomeHub 2.
However... every now and again the speed crashes, it goes very slow (both on wireless and when the computer's connected directly to the HH). When I speed test, the ping goes from approx 30ms to around 2000ms, and thespeed drops to around 0.25mbps. If you leave it for 15 minutes it can restore itself, but it is infuriating when it happens!
I have looked through the forums and done the tests and the line seems clear. Looking at my router does it seem to have a high SNRM?? the details are:
Mode: | ADSL_G.dmt |
Traffic Type: | ATM |
Status: | Up |
Link Power State: | L0 |
|
| Downstream | Upstream |
Line Coding(Trellis): | On | On |
SNR Margin (0.1 dB): | 111 | 250 |
Attenuation (0.1 dB): | 150 | 90 |
Output Power (0.1 dBm): | 198 | 119 |
Attainable Rate (Kbps): | 10816 | 1128 |
|
I have checked this with two HHub2s, and it isn't the wireless and I can still use the WiFi network. I have installed an ADSL nation faceplate, and this did help my average speed, but not the glitches.
Any thoughts?
