Re: Sudden speed drop

I wonder if it would be possible for someone here to advise what stability profile my line is set to or if I have to contact BT direct for that?

Cheers,

Re: Sudden speed drop

is there any noise on quiet line test?   are you still in test socket?  if you are then check there is no dial tone at any extension socket elsewhere in your home

Re: Sudden speed drop

No i plugged the openreach facia back on and plugged it straight into it without the filter....I am pretty sure the filter is broken.  Problem is when they installed the line, they tool everything away that wasn't needed including the filter that came with the router as it plugs straight into the wall socket.  Also, there are no extensions.  This is the only socket for the line.

Re: Sudden speed drop

I did just notice that the test socket connection seems to be thicker that a standard telephone (filter) connector.  Is this normal?

The test socket takes the standard BT connector fitted to filters and telephone cables.BT filter connector.jpg
