Superfast Fibre 2, but should I move to Fibre 1

I currently have Superfast Fibre 2 but the real speeds are way below the estimates, and still way below the estimates for Fibre 1. If I moved to Fibre 1 to save a few pounds, would the real speeds stay the same, go down, or it's anyone's guess?

The speed will stay the same if it is below 55M

Re: Superfast Fibre 2, but should I move to Fibre 1

Thanks. It's way way below 55M, usually 40-44 or thereabouts.

@bobdanbh

You should be getting a faster connection than you are at the moment, but it should become clearer once you post the connection speed.

Re: Superfast Fibre 2, but should I move to Fibre 1

Thanks to all. When we got fibre in our village I kept a detailed log of speeds. It started at 61M, and gradually declined to 40-44. An Openreach man came, it went up to 60.3, and has since declined again. Maybe the electrons are getting tired.

I'm just being mean, I suppose, in trying to save £7.50 a month. The galling thing is another place I know has Fibre 1 and the speeds are 55M always.

Re: Superfast Fibre 2, but should I move to Fibre 1

It looks as though DLM has banded your line at 49M due to instability. Is there any noise on your line if you do a quiet line test on 17070?
