Switch from BT Yahoo to BT Mail

I have suffered the vagaries of BT Yahoo Mail since I've been with BT for many years. Now when I log in there is a Green Box listing the improvements being made to BT Mail (but NOT to Bt Yahoo)  I need a 'safe senders list' and these other improvements.

I have phoned BT and been told I must update my PC software to get it.  When I do I will automatically be switched (oh yeah, ha-ha) This I disbelieve and have disproved as all my hard and software is up to date.

Has anyone successfully migrated to BT Mail from BT Yahoo? Is it possible?

And as an aside, has anyone received helpful advice from BT Help? The knowledge standard is sadly below par.

the migration from yahoo to BT mail is on hold and has been for 3+ years  doubt it will change in near future

It does beg the question why BT Help says I can and it's easy.  I am fed up having to use the obviously inferior of the two BT Mails!

you would be better switching to something like gmail and that way changing providers won't cause you any email problems - and save you the BT Yahoo hassle

I have G Mail and Outlook and Sky but all my history is with BT so it is more expedient to use BT. I just wish someone would tell BT Technical Help what you are telling me!

The Customer Services have reportedly been told via this forum moderators not to advise customers that they can change from BTYahoo to BTMail but for some reason some of the CS reps still give out this incorrect advice.
