Hi all,
So afte getting so utterly fed up with poor WiFi signal andnumerous daily drop outs, I decided to replace my Infinity 2, HH5 for a 3rd party device.
I did some reading and as far as I know, I bought the right this - the TP-LINK Archer D9 AC1900.
My HH5 has no OR box and connects directly to my wall socket via a RJ11 socket/cable. I itinitall bought the C9 as it was listed in a well kow computer shop as being for BT Infinity. However, this has a RJ45 socket.
So, my question is - have I got the right router/modem?
And, is there anything special I need to know regarding set up?
I plugged it all in earlier but it failed to connect propoerly and the ADSL light flashed constantly.
I'm a newby to all this so any advice/help is hugely appreciated.
Cheers,
Steve
Solved! Go to Solution.
You have bought an ADSL modem/router.
You need a VDSL modem/router or an Openreach modem which you would need to connect the TP-Link through.
Thanks for your prompt reply ...
So I was probaly right with the C9.
No. The C9 is only a router not a modem/router.
If you go to the TP-Link web page and go to DSLmodem & routers and filter by VDSL/ADSL you will be given a selection of suitable VDSL/Modem/routers.
Thanks Bud.
So, it looks like the Archer VR900 is the one I need...?
