TP-LINK Archer VR900 AC 1900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit VDSL2/ADSL2+ Modem Router

I see they have a new one out...

 

Question, does it work with the Youview IP channels?

 

It looks a bit nicer than their old model but cost more 😞

Looks like it,  according to the datasheet IGMP supported. http://uk.tp-link.com/res/down/doc/Archer_VR900_V1_Datasheet.pdf

It arrived today, dead easy to setup on Infinity but alas IPC6023 error 😞

Played with the IPTV settings and IGMP was already on on.

I have sent them an email.

Looking back at the history of the previous model it looks as though it took a couple of firmware upgrades over the course of six months for it work properly, you'd think they would be ahead of the game this time round?

 

It's a pity because otherwise I'd have ordered this up today on the Amazon £10 off £50 deal ;-/

Only one engineer, no wonder the box is still on the original firmware release from April.

 

For information, the Media Server option works better than the TD-W9980 which would only index 1000 items.

 

This one seems to have a limit of just under 10,000 tracks as it only shows 9208 items out of my 16,497 mp3's

 

I have put the TD-W9980 back in place and YouView worked straight away...

Seems crazy earlier models work ok but the new one doesn't!!

@Automan According to the kitz forum there is a v2 version due out shortly so that might address the problem. Might be worth you asking on kitz if anybody has managed to get IPTV working.
