Telephone routing on BT Infinity

Just a question regarding how is the 'ordinary' phone routed when BT infinity is installed.

Does the voice signal still go from the exchange over the old copper wires, through the 'old' green cabinet to the house, or is it re-routed as the broadband signal from the exchange via fibre to the new green cabinet then to the house ?

Re: Telephone routing on BT Infinity

telephone still works in the same way mate, except for not needing a filter at every socket. its all copper cable to the exchange. there is currently no FVA (fibre voice access) on fttc at the mo, its only on fttp. its probably something they are looking to in future on fttc because of the BBU port on the modems. might wanna have a look at this http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/36953/~/questions-about-the-battery-back-up-unit

Re: Telephone routing on BT Infinity

Urmm, isn't it filtered at the master socket, so any other extensions don't need filters?
