I have set up my mother in law with BT TV, can she still access the 'old' teletext?

That stopped years ago.
The nearest thing is the BBC Red button, but I think the BBC were thinking about stopping it.

Thanks Keith. I know it was being phased out but I can still get it on an old TV at home and my mother in law had it via the Sky platform. Signal must still be there!!
According to Google, a cut down version of Teletext is still available on some Sky channels. It seems to be a reduced version of ceefax via BBC Red Button which is being fully phased out this year

Not sure how BTTV works as we don't have that particular medium. For the TV itself.
The BBC RED button continues after the many complaints and media protests, the Beeb received. As far as I am aware, it continues.
You should show your MIL the TEXT button on the remote. This provides everything that you currently get with the RED button.
The above is what MIL sees after selecting the red button. In the example below, the TEXT button is located above the BLUE button.
When on any Beeb channel, this brings up:
I know all this stuff (and more) because I am almost totally deaf.
If you go to the BBC RADIO channels on BT TV Box then you should still get the old style Red button text.
eg select 704 BBC Radio 4 and then press TEXT or Red button when the image appears .
Hi Zulu17, looks like a brilliant answer 😀
Tried it on my identical set up at home so hopefully will be the same when I try her box later today.
👍👍
Hi Carlusha, thanks for your post.
I can get as far as first screen shot you attached via red button, but cannot get second level when the text categories should be shown.
Radio channel option post seems to work OK.
