Re: Termination Request.

Thanks Neil. I am hoping this time around I will sort this out once and for all. Its puzzling, stressful and mind destroying this issue. I apologise for my previous rant it was a bad day. Thanks for the link I have sent my details and hope something will eventually put a stop to the mystery and possibly put everyone at ease who suffered with this as long as me.

And thanks to the other users who have chipped in also. Its honestly a funny one in the sense it seems no one really has a definitive clue what is really going on. Hopefully with a thorough investigation and commitment from BT I could potentially find the real solution.

Watch this space and see how this unfolds.

Thanks!

(Seriously I could never give up on my BT Infinity. Its great when it works!)

Re: Termination Request.

Had a lengthy chat with a mod on my mobile today.

The short -

I'm getting sent a HH3 B to replace my HH3 A and expecting it on Monday.

The reason - My ECI modem lights never turn off or act irregular when the HH3 A would disconnect suggesting a faulty HH3 A. I never thought to mention that previously as I was too intent to delve into this issue too much and forgetting the basics.

As the past 4 weeks - The 2 - 2 weeks that have past it would disconnect if that makes sense. Not as frequent but essentially like clockwork. At the first 2 week period it disconnected at about 5pm then the other 2 week period it disconnected around 5pm - 6pm. Which was strange. Disconnected with the PPP LCP Send Termination request [User Request].

So I'm going to see if this HH3 B will solve this issue. I hope so. If not then that's OK as I do have the last resort option of getting a lift and shift if everything else fails. So fingers crossed!!! Smiley LOL

Re: Termination Request.

An engineer arrived today who was very helpful.

The short of it - He thinks it's some sort of protocol from BT Wholesale side or some form of an authentication issue on BT's side. Essentially ruling out my home, line, equipment etc.

Basically he ruled out REIN as the frequencies of my disconnections weren't frequent as the usual REIN disconnections he's been involved in.

Ruled out line issues from my home to the green cabinet by testing from my master socket.

Looked in the green cabinet and tested the D and E sides (I think he said.) both resulted in excellent results.

Came back and tested again to my home - Excellent results.

Called some technical specialist on his mobile, got through. They thoroughly checked and yielded nothing wrong/odd.

No DLM on my line. Everything is clean.

He knew what PPP stood for - "Point-To-Point-Protocol"

_________________________________________________________________________________

So it looks like it's on BT's side somewhere. 3 engineers, all finding excellent results, no errors etc. from my home to the green cabinet basically does point to BT themselves more than ever.

3 engineers cannot be wrong so I hope BT stops clutching their excuse book and can check exchange side, BT Wholesale side or whatever. Check for an authentication issue their side as that's literally all that's left to check - My exchange and the all above stated.

So how do we proceed...? I will be getting a call from a mod tomorrow so we can discuss this further and point the mod to my thread for everything I have listed. I hope they decide to look elsewhere for issues now as it's definitely not my home, equipment, line or green cabinet.

Fingers crossed I get further to a resolution to this someday!

Re: Termination Request.

These are the most relevant ones beforehand. The rest before these are just my devices working. Notice the Termination Request has no user request at the end now? Weird stuff. This is from the HH3 B by the way.

10:34:39,26 July. WAN connection WAN2_INTERNET_B_ETH2 disconnected.[ERROR_NO_CARRIER]

10:34:38,26 July. Gigabit Ethernet Link Down: the duration is 71894 seconds

10:32:15,26 July. PortMapping Add By UPNP/TR064 Success.

From yesterday's event log before the Termination Request -

  14:36:22,25 July. WAN connection WAN2_INTERNET_B_ETH2 disconnected.[ERROR_NO_CARRIER]

14:36:22,25 July. Gigabit Ethernet Link Down: the duration is 0 seconds

Re: Termination Request.

I think this is more important
10:34:38,26 July. Gigabit Ethernet Link Down

I guess it will happen again at 06:30 tomorrow a.m.

Re: Termination Request.

Why would it do it? Could you explain please?

I don't understand the event log entry 100%. Is it a fault with this hub or something else?

I do have my PS3 in the GigE port. Thats how I noticed my internet go off, I got signed out PSN.
