Up until about 4 weeks ago I have had great speeds in excess of 6Mb.
4 weeks ago the speed suddenly dropped now I just get a speed of 0.23 download and 0.37 upload! (speed test . net), as i write this I have just retested using the new beta BT tester ( http://speedtester.bt.com/beta) and got.044 DL
I have done ALL the things that should be done like resetting the hub disconnecting other devices etc using the 'test' socket and changed the filter.
BT support say all is well??
I have carried out the proper tests using the BT speed tester (http://speedtester.bt.com/), the results are below:
This Test comprises of two tests
1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
|0 Kbps||7150 Kbps|
Max Achievable Speed
| Download speedachieved during the test was - 358 Kbps|
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 6500 Kbps
2. Assured Rate Test: -provides background information.
|0 Kbps||600 Kbps|
Max Achievable Speed
| Download speedachieved during the test was - 320 Kbps|
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 576-600 Kbps.
Assured Rate IP profile on your line is - 600 Kbps
This test was not conclusive and further testing is required.This might be useful for your ISP to investigate the fault.
Also below are my hub stats:
|ADSL line status|

I have just emailed a mod and I lokk forward to getting a reply some time this weel 🙂
Thats better than what I can get. I only get up to 2MB and BT promises us that they will give us Fibre Optics but they don't! Everyone is fed up with them in our village that they DON'T CARE ABOUT! I know this because they not even posted a date when Fibre is coming to our village and they make out no one would like Fibre Optics!
Great job BT!
YP, I know it is a large project but it does not help that you are not doing the rest at 2015! We should of been like France putting Fibre Optics in cities ages ago so smaller villages can have them now!
But it also does not help that a BT employeer says that we are going to get Fibre Optics and we don't!
And I know BT does not care about our village because here are the facts:
*We were one of the last villages to move from Dial up to Broadband
*We only have Broadband because people sponsered us because it was that bad
* We are not getting Fibre Optics for a while because every BT employee that I spoke to does not know when we getting it
*Our exchange does not have many services avable only one Broadband option and that is to get Broadband under 2MB!
* The BT Chair Man gets Faster internet than us and we are one of the villages who is next door to his house!
We know that this is a long project but BT does not help us just upgrading us to something better for now until we get Fibre!
The village would of been HAPPIER if BT just upgraded us to a better service (SPEED, NOT PRICE DEALS!) for now before Fibre comes in our area!
And I don't like it that BT is trying to shut us up because our boradband is Rubish, BT should of upgraded us to a better speed but no they don't!
Thanks to David a BT MOD for helping to solve this issue.
It was resolved after sending the fault to BT's complex faults team as my V.P. (virtual path) was faulty.
My speed is now back to the 6.28Mb I was getting before the problem.
