Hi
I've recently switched from EE to BT Mobile, transferring my EE mobile number in the process. The number has successfully transferred in terms of phone calls, but has some problems with text messaging. Some of my contacts have told me my texts are being sent from the temporary number supplied by BT, rather than my original EE number (but with others, its working as it should). I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 , which has dual SIM, but I only have the new BT Sim inserted.
Any ideas please?
John

I have been experiencing a similar problem. I switched from EE to BT mobile, using iPhone with both providers, and asked to keep my number. Phone messages are showing correctly as coming from my original, retained, number, but text messages are showing as coming from the temporary number allocated during switch over, so if people try to text me the messages are being sent to my previous iPhone. BT do not make it easy to get help with problems like this.
Eventually I found out how to fix this, after phoning BT.
On your iPhone, go to Settings, then Phone, then My Number and change that number manually from the temporary number to your proper number. That seems to have worked OK with me.
Yep, common problem on iPhone, but this issue is an incomplete porting of the number between the networks (even between EE and BT). Spoke to BT technical yesterday. They didn't have a specific cause for the problem, but have sent out a replacement SIM.
