Didn't work for me.

 

I have registered

I have caller display even though 00000 says I don't.

 

Still receiving Texts as voice texts!!  I think I will give up unless anyone has any suggestions.   It is a recently aquired new BT phone.  P.

 

Edit.. Sorry I didn't realise this was a previously  Solved post.

  But they are not unwanted texts they are genuine so I would like to receive them....but not as voice texts.

I wonder if you turned them off, wait a while, then turn them on again, it may update the settings?

It is a text enabled phone. BT 7600

I'm a little wary of that Keith after looking at instructions,  in case I cannot turn it back on.

I have the same problem with a new BT 8500 phone.

 

I have managed to get a couple Text messages as text but it keeps reverting to Voicemail even immediately after I try and register to 00000 (done many times).

 

I have not found any way to report the fault online, using the online phone fault reporting page just tests the line, says it is OK and do I want to pay for an engineer to visit!  No way entering details of the BT Text fault.

 

I rang 0800 and spoke to someone who said they get someone else to call me back and tell me what to do, they never did and I have a suspicion they will just tell me to register to 00000!

 

I have been using a Panasonic DECT phone on the same line to send and receive Text messages for years.
