Re: Told I would need an engineer

You're assuming that the results of BT's fault tracker bear any semblance to reality.  In practice, the only way to find out where the fault really is is to send somebody out to trace where the problem lies.

Re: Told I would need an engineer

John thanks for your help I have done what you suggested and my speeds have increased, I have returned the ste up to how it was originally and the speeds are still faster than before, very strange. i will keep a check on it over the weekend to see what happens. Just a shame India did not get me to do this on Monday.

Re: Told I would need an engineer

Thanks I have tried the master socket and speed went up to 30mb, I have now reverted the set back to how it was before and I am still getting 30mb surely if it was an internal problem the speed would of dropped back to the 12mb I was getting

still a long way from the 70mb I used to get but perhaps DLM will kick in I will monitor over the nest week and see what happens.

Seems to be a bit pointless having a fault tracker then,

Re: Told I would need an engineer

the fault tracker if fairly basic the only real test is an engineer visit it sounds like you may have a faulty master socket making an intermittent contact
