Tp link vr2600 won't connect

Just bought this router and using bt_vdsl as the ip bthomehub@btbroadband.com as the username and bt as the password but it refuses to connect to the internet any advice please

What firmware is it currently running? 160518 or 160330

 

If you have not got the latest 160518 you can download it HERE load it onto the modem/router, factory reset it by holding down the pin and the back for atleast 1 minute then try again.

i'll check in the morning as I have turned it off and put the bt hub back for tonight

Assuming you have the lead from the Openreach master socket connected to the DSL socket on the VR2600 and not the WAN port?

It needs to be connected to the DSL socket.

yep got the cables in the right sockets, just getting the message internet not connected. if I take the cable out of the dsl socket and plug it in to the dsl socket on th HH5 the HH5 connects fine

has firmware 160330 on it so going to download 160518 and give that a go

When using quick setup I still get the message internet not connected. Please check if your phone cable is properly connected

Firm ware has been upgraded and a factory reset done

I'm not sure then. It should work with the setttings;

 

ISP List: BT_VDSL

 

Connection Type: PPPoE

 

PPPoE Username: bthomehub@btbroadband.com

 

PPPoE Password: bt (Try again with no password)

 

Confirm Password: bt (Try again with no password)

The DSL sync light just keeps flashing and I get the message internet not connected so getting no where  pull the DSL cable out and stick it in the HH5 connects no problem
