Have just become aware that the emails in my trash file are deleting automatically. I don't remember changing to this option . How do you alter this default?
Solved! Go to Solution.
The trash folder on the BTMail system automatically deletes emails that are in it on a 30 day rolling program. It can not be altered.
If you don't want an email to be permanently deleted, don't put it in the trash folder. Consider setting up a pending folder until you have made up your mind that they email should be deleted.
I gather the BTMail Trash folder is supposed to automatically delete after 30 days. But both my husband and my Trash folders have thousands of old emails in them. The auto delete doesn't appear to be working. I've done 2 live chats with BT. The first time I was told they would fix it but they haven't. When I contacted them again I was told I had to write my own rule about this, which is nonsense! How on earth do I get this fixed please?
I take it you are aware that you can empty the Trash folder manually by logging onto your email account then hovering over the Trash icon in the list of folders in right hand column then click on the "Trash Bin" icon that is revealed.
Yes I am aware of this feature thanks. But this doesn't get around the issue that the Trash folder is not auto-deleting messages more than 30 days old. I thought the system is supposed to do this but it obviously isn't. How do I get this rectified? BT Live Chat is not helping at all.
