Trying to connect the Asus XT8 to the BT Smart hub 2

Im trying to setup the XT8 to replace the wifi in my house and use the BT smart hub 2 as the modem. I have tried using the PPPoE protocol and putting in the correct credentials (btsmarthub@btbroadband.com + bt) but that doesnt seem to pass internet to the mesh wifi. Some help and advice would be greatly appreciated!

The SH2 doesn't have a modem only mode so will still be handling the PPPoE layer rather than the Asus.

How have you connected the Asus LAN port to LAN port or LAN port to WAN port.

If the former, the Asus will just be a WAP and you need to give it an address outside the DHCP range of the hub and turn off DHCP. If the latter you will need to configure the Asus in a separate subnet and accept that you will be double natting.
