Turn off UPnP in my BT Wholehome Discs (4)

I have been advised that for security purposes I need to turn off UPnP in each of my 4 BT Wholehome Discs, because they represent a potential vulnerability.

I was advised by a security expert that if I did not turn off UPnP "This makes your router vulnerable. Such vulnerability can help hackers change DNS setting on the router. After that all devices on a LAN can be routed to a phishing site, a ransom demanding page or even encrypt your files."

How do I turn off UPnP in each disc?

Thank you for your help

Re: Turn off UPnP in my BT Wholehome Discs (4)

I haven't got any Whole Home discs, but I wouldn't think UPnP is an option on them, it will be configured on the hub.

Advanced settings > Firewall > Configuration > UPnP

I do not have a Hub - the discs are attached to my Vodafone Router, and it is the 4 discs that have the UPnP vulnerability, not the router. I understand that I have 4 vulnerable areas, not one, and that one is on each of the 4 discs that form my Mesh setup.

Hmm, UPnP is a router/firewall  functionality I would look in the Vodafone router configuration to turn it off. The vulnerability in the discs will be because of the vulnerability of the router.

Thanks, I’ll give that a try if I can find how to turn it off in the router, but my expert is not convinced that is where the vulnerability lies.
