Re: Two lines to the same premise very different performance...paying the same bill!

what did the engineers from openreach say about the difference in connection speed?  the  one at 25mb is well above your estimate from dslchecker whereas the other line is within the estimated speeds shown on the checker

obviously no 2 lines are the same just because they run to same pole

are both broadband connections with bt infinity?

Re: Two lines to the same premise very different performance...paying the same bill!

hi Imjolly

The 25 line is actually in the middle of its estimate for clean and impacted - remember it has its own line test...the line check results I showed are for the poor line  i.e. its below its download estimate and pitifully below on the upload.

After engineer visits it went up to 22 but quickly descends again to its current state which doesnt makes sense given the SNR

Re: Two lines to the same premise very different performance...paying the same bill!

according to checker results  for 'poor' line shows estmated speed 22/14mb and you have 15.5mb so you are within estimated speed and your up speed al;so within estimate but bottom end

if checker shows dirrent estimates for other phone number just shows no 2 line are the same

Re: Two lines to the same premise very different performance...paying the same bill!

Sorry no.  The clean/impacted is 22/17.5 so 15.5 would not be inline with the BT wholesale ADSL checker.  Furthermore the BT wholesale speed result is 14.89 and falling so it is not within BT's estimates according both of BT's own measures/tests.

Furthermore the upload is only 0.79Mbs

It has been as high as 22 and the SNR is 5/6 so the line is capable of more.

Thus having had engineers out twice I am seek moderator assistance

Re: Two lines to the same premise very different performance...paying the same bill!

You should ignore the Impacted line range B estimate. BT only use the Clean range A line estimate. It show that you should be getting between 14.2 Mbps and  22.4Mbps so if you are getting 14.89Mbps you are within the estimate albeit at the lower end.

Re: Two lines to the same premise very different performance...paying the same bill!

your formatting of the dslchecker results is all wrong  you col headings don;t correspond to figures that are below

if you run again and post the the results as they appear will give a true speed range estimate

Re: Two lines to the same premise very different performance...paying the same bill!

You are correct but this makes little material difference it is near as dammit out side the low end and

The upload is just 0.79  The downstream has drifted down from 22 since August despite an SNR of 5/6 - this is the material point.

It is a new line, new faceplate, no phone connected just a Draytek 130 VDSL with the latest firmware.

I have to pay for two lines to get adequate speed.  It is not unreasonable to have this probalem addressed.

If I am being cynical someone has complained at some point and lines got switched or there is another reason this line speed has been drifting down.

Mods please help

Re: Two lines to the same premise very different performance...paying the same bill!

the speeds shown on dslchecker are conenction speeds not download speeds and your line appears to be within the estimates speed

from what you posted the dslchecker results from your other line show different/better results and hence get better speed

obviously one line is better than the other although both appears from what you have posted to be within their respective estimates
