Re: UPGRADE OF 40MB TO 80MB SPEEDS ?

If you currently get 35Mbit then when an 80Mbit product becomes available you will get 35Mbit. The 17a profile which enables the higher speeds has been in place some months and if you aren't seeing 37.5'ish now (which is the current max) then you are getting as fast as you are going to get.

because Virgin upgrade was free

and if BT want to remain competitve they will also have to be free

or they will out price themselves

Hi borris12 go on the TalkTalk website enter your phone number and postcode you will find out what ***SPEED*** you will get on the 80/20. I sync at 39999 say and get 37.18Mbps and on the TalkTalk site they say I can get 71.1Mbps

How does that make it a proposed "free" upgrade ? You're just making an assumption it's going to be free because Virgin aren't charging for it.

Also Virgin have hurt themselves by all these "free" upgrades as they now have seriously overloaded a huge amount of nodes with no plan on how to ease local congestion.

...And as TalkTalk charge a different price for each sevice (40/80-£10/£15) I cant imagine that BT & others wouldnt too
