You do not need to hack the modem as the main stat is the sync which can be easily calculated from the IP Profile which is why people are asked to run the BT Speedtester.
My Stats via Telnet:-

Well my BT Speedchecker has stop showing me what my IP Profile is.
And i'd like to know what my line is capable of and what they cap me at not to mention how many errors i get when the line is running for 24 hours
Theres also all the advanced Features like the modems own firewall
My BT "services" page shows me having 80/20 Mbps Infinity. However, I'm still only getting 40/10 Mbps speeds according to both BT's speed checker and SpeedTest.net.
Is there something I need to do to activate the upgrade or something?
Perhaps a simple restart of your modem or router.
Tried that, still getting 40/10 Mbps. 😞
It might be worth noting that I didn't actually ask for an upgrade, I just read about it and noticed that the My BT page says "Up to 76Mb download speed, Up to 19Mb upload speed".

You need to ask, by filling in an online form or phoning up.
You will re-start your current contract (or start a new one) for your sins.
Hmm, so the My BT page is lying then? 😕
I still have 11 months left on my existing contract so does that mean I can get the upgrade for free without extending my contract by more than a month?

If it was initially a 12 month contract, then yes it should be another 12 month contract. You'd be best to confirm this when you order it though, in case an error is made.
If it was 18, then it should be another 18. But there was at least one customer that did have an 18 month contract, that when the 80/20 was signed up for, they also got a 12 month contract.
