URGENT HELP NEEDED (UNLOCKING iPHONE 4S from BT)

I recently moved from BT to Giffgaff. I was on a one-year contract with BT. I decided to leave BT at the end of the contract and move to Giffgaff.

While inserting the Giffgaff sim into my iPhone 4S (which I bought in January 2012, cannot remember from where, probably from phones for u), it said that my phone is locked to BT. I informed BT, they said it would take 10 days for them to unlock the phone.

Today they called me saying that they have unlocked the phone from their end and gave me instructions on how to unlock it at my end (they asked me to go to an Apple webpage and follow the instructions there). I did what was said, but it still says that my phone is locked to BT. I called BT - they said they can do nothing.

Any help, please? Also, any way I can take this further and complain to any higher authorities? Not only did BT lock my phone, but they also did not tell me. Absolutely pathetic and rubbish company and service. If they did not have Champions League games on, I would not take BT. One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with, and I am a decent guy.

@sunny21

I assume they told you to finish the unlock procedure by connect the iPhone to iTunes with a cable connection. Replacing the SIM card with the new sim and follow the unlock procedures?
