Hi,
New to BT and the forum and could do with some help please.
Just joined BT today and my phone and a very old/slow laptop can connet to the internet but my Ubuntu desktop (15.10) can only see the router settings page but cannot get to the internet.
Not very technical so some handholding and simple instructions would be great.
Is it even possible to get BT Infinity and Ubuntu to work?
If this cant be done what options do I have.... maybe use another router?
Thanks,
Solved! Go to Solution.
have you turned of smart setup
have you split the networks
Hi,
Thank you for your help - very much appreciated.
OK - have just done both those suggestions and rebooted both router and desktop but still not connecting.
Is there anything else I can try?

Infinity doesn't care what operating system you use and works fine with Ubuntu. How are you connecting, wireless or wired and which browser are you using.
Hi licquorice
I've tried both wireless and wired but I still have the same problem.
Currently using Chrome.
If you enter 216.58.210.3 in the address bar of Chrome what happens?
Chrome converts it into www.google.com and the page did not load.
I get
"This page is not available"
"DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN"
Can you try it with Firefox
If you go to System tools > Administration > Network select your Ethernet connection and click Edit. If you click on the IPv4 tab does it say Automatic (DHCP) ? Same for your wireless connection.
