For the last week I have been Unable to 'compose' new emails or 'reply to' incoming emails on my Desktop. I can how ever do so on 'portable devices'. All my other email sub-accounts behave correctly on the Desktop & portable devises. The problem did disappear briefly for one day. Any solutions out there?
Solved! Go to Solution.
If you are using Internet Explorer, then empty your Temporary Internet Files, as that causes problems.
No luck with that, I'm using Firefox.
Have you considered using a proper e-mail program on your desktop, like Thunderbird, it makes things much easier?
Remember to configure it to use IMAP, not POP3.

When you first set it up, it may take a while to duplicate the folder structure that is on the server, especially if you have a lot of folders and emails, but once it is done, you will be able to navigate your e-mails with ease.
You can also add any sub accounts, and they will also be shown as well.
Using IMAP means that all your messages are still available on other devices, as IMAP simply mirrors what is on the server. If you delete e-mails from Thunderbird, they will be removed from the server, and will not appear on other devices.
Using Thunderbird also means that a local copy is kept on your computer, and you can save, print or archive stuff very easily.
Works a dream, many thanks for your advice.
