So i've been trying for 2 days now to order the ultra broadband with NO success! everytime it asks me to put postcode and phone number in to check availablility i do so and then it tells me i can only have standard broadband! now here's the thing! i am currently with EE and rocking a 70mb fibre line! previous to that i had BT unlimited fibre! so what the hell is the problem! i have tried everything i can think of, using different devices, i even went next door and tried it on my neighbours laptop to no avail! BUT if i put in my mothers post code and phone number she can get everything!
So how does this work then? should i just take it that BT don't want a new customer?
and NO i don't want to call up and place the order over the phone where i will miss out on the added benefits of ordering online! BT you have a serious problem!!!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Post the results of http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ but delete your phone number first
I suspect the cabinet is full and there are no spare ports. You won't automatically get the port you free up by changing provider.
The results from the dsl checker posted by @pompey1898 will show if this is the case.
Edit: checker shows there is availability
Well Sadly the web site has not been sorted out, i have persisted for several days now checking every day to see if the checker will allow me anything other than standard, it's insane! i was fully ready to put the order in but i am not going to miss out on the cashback that i can get by ordering online! yes it's easy to pick up the phone and if providers would honor cashback deals that can be had online via the phone then great! but as they won't you are left with little option.
I have now placed my order with Sky as they had no problem with me ordering their top package and i added a few other bits in as well! so BT you have lost out on extra sales and a new contract because your checker is faulty and you aren't bothering to fix it!
NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Hi @fedup55 ,
The checker shows that you already have FTTC with maximum speed achieved of 79.43 Mbps on 29-9-19. If you think you are moving to Sky for FTTP I think you may be surprised.
Did you actually read my first post?
The checker is telling me i can only purchase standard broadband from BT!!! 16mbs!!!!
HOW? when i'm on a 70mb fibre line with EE????
I'm moving over to sky because my EE contract is coming to an end! SKY have allowed me to
purchase a 67mb fibre connection! at the same price as BT's checker was telling me i would have
to pay for a 16mb line! BUT i wanted to purchase BT's superfast 2!!! which i should easily have
been able to do online!!
There are no surprises! other than the surprise that BT's web site is so shocking and is clearly loosing them potential
new customers!
