Had the email telling me I'm being put on the new unlimited minutes plan for an extra £4.50 a month. Is this £4.50 a month or £10 + £4.50? Confused I tried phoning bt with no success so spoke on internet chat. Initially the person said my plan was not changing and I did not need to do anything, I had to send him a copy of the email before he understood, then said hed spoken to sales team and it would be £4.50 not £10 + £4.50. But looking at other comments on the forum it seems it will be £14.50, I am now confused!!
I can't find when my contract is due to end, but will move to another provider asap when it does, or before if the penalty is acceptable.
the new unlimited cost will be £14.50
there are new calling plans which may suit you better and cheaper
So the bt person said I would be paying £4.50, presumably this chat is accessible to bt, will they honour that price?
high unlikely as you have the initial email telling you cost will increase by £4.50 and was reported in ISP review and press about price rise
The email I received was the first I knew of it.
To get fibre we had to do it through BT, I can't believe they have changed the price "in contract" after only 6 months.
When queried gave me the wrong information about the price increase.
Won't honour the information they gave me at £4.50
Fantastic company!!!!!!????!!!
So reading the ISP review, BT say I can leave the contract without penalty, is this true?
Can I now transfer to another supplier with still a year of my contract left, and not be penalised?
bear in mind that it is only the call add-on that has increased in cost not your broadband contract so you can end the call add-on
Also received this email.
Question I ask is will BT change the contract length at the same time if I take this change or request a different plan?
I ask as I added unlimited minutes mid term but BT renewed my broadband/phone contract to 18 months.

If you really are 6 months into the broadband contract, your calling plan won't change, anyone who joined or renewed a contract after October 19th 2020 is already on the new calling plan and unaffected by the change.
I have just spoken to BT.
I joined in November but my plan is changing to the anytime mins at an extra cost of £4.50, the add on will then total £14.50.
As I only make max 350 mins of calls a month I have changed to the 700mins plan , anytime calls and mobiles to max 700mins per month, for £7 instead of the £14.50. Effective within 24hrs.
I will still now be looking for a new provider to change to before 31st aug( in my case) and will switch with no penalty provided I tell BT the new provider i have switched to/am switching to by that date and don't just rely on new provider telling them (BT need to make sure penalty is not applied)
Hope this info helps clear the confusion for people, and i hope BT have given me the correct info this time.
