Yes I have tried the quiet line test via the master socket with a corded telephone and it was silent. ( I nearly wish there was a noise )
now I have also done another trace root hard wired to the router everything else dissconected and including the face plate on the master socket for the house extensions. I got the following results

as you can see the ping rates are quite high at the moment and I also seem to be getting packet loss on a couple of the tests
I am really grasping at straws but is the up noise not too high on my router or would that have no effect on the results?
I am also using ping 188.8.131.52 -t and the ping rates are giving results anything up to the 600's ms
also I have done a speed test via bt wholesale and the ping rate came back at 139ms my normal ping rate used to be 44ms
Each test I have carried out have all been done seperately with nothing else running
The hub was reset 2 days ago as the person I spoke to on the phone had reset my line.I have old screen shots of my router going back over a year now and its always showed interleaved (by the way I dont know what this means)
is there a way not to have it interleaved?
my connection was never great as in speed but thats because of my distance from the exchange but the latency was always stable until a few weeks ago. I spoke to bt online chat and they sugested a new router and sent me a bt hub 4 i tried it for a couple of days and then went back to my hub 3 as the wireless signal on the 4 was terrible I even switched off the 5ghz and kept it on 2.4ghz. But thats getting off subject but it did rule out that it could be a router problem as the same high latency was on the hub 4
So basically its errors on the line that keeps it as interleaved and to change it to fast would make the line have faster ping rates but would leave the connection unstable when there is still errors on the line.
Is there a way of detecting what the cause of the errors are?
I have looked back to a previous screenshot of my router statistics going back to april last year when the ping was stable and it also shows interleaved.
Would a lift and shift be worth a try to see if it would stabilise the connection as I said I am really grasping at straws to try and correct the problem.
thank you for all your help so far on this matter
