Unusable slow speed on BT exchange activate connection

Hello and thanks for the help.  My parents have an exchange activate (512kbps) connection at a very remote property in Scotland.  They have asked me for help as it has become almost unusably slow (and nearby properties have the same issue so it doesn't seem to be a specific problem with their house).   The exchange is Merkland (NSMER) and they have a homehub3 connected to the master socket.  Is there anyway you can check the exchange.  It used to work fine - not fast of course, but fast enough to download emails and documents and for non video web browsing.  Thank you very much for any help

Anything you post here does not go to BT. Although the forum is moderated by BT, not all posts are read.

They would need to contact BT and ask them to run some tests.


They are welcome to post on this forum, but they will need to do some tests.


Perhaps they have a noisy phone line, as that will affect broadband?
