I upgraded to 80/20 yesterday, and was given estimated dl speeds of 57 - compared to my 'old' speed of around 26, I thought it was great!
However, it was activated yesterday, and....... well, see below:
1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Download speedachieved during the test was - 6 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 12 Mbps-56.89 Mbps .
IP Profile for your line is - 56.89 Mbps
2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 13.88Mbps
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps
That's pretty appalling! So my UL speed is a lot better, yet my DL speed is utterly rubbish, and a quarter of my old speed before the upgrade!! I've re-booted the modem and HH (in fact, it was turned off all night), and there's no change.
I'm not happy with this - the order is showing as having completed, but I want my fast speeds back!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Is this off the B.T Speedtester? many people are having issues with that speedtester as for some reason it's not showing people true speeds.
Do these show you any different?
Just a thought, have you tried speedtest.net or speedtest.bbmax.co.uk.
Some forum members have seen issues with the download speed from BT speedtester and only use it at the minute to check there ip profile.
Hope it goes well for you
Yeah, that was from the BT test. Speedtest.net gives me:
Still not the speed I was told though, let alone the same as my old speed!!!
That's odd - my usenet speed has gone from 6Mbps up to 46Mbps....!
Sorry to see it not going well, I am not sure if BT will look at this until their 10 day period is over. As frustrating as that is stick with it and maybe the download speed will increase over the next few days.
If it does not then contact bt and discuss your lack off speed with them to get them resolved.
Best of luck I hope it goes well for you soon
Yep, all wired connections.
What with this and a really poor Freeview reception for sitchover, it's not a good tech day!
ok no worries, well as Nige32 said, unfortunately since your in the 10 day stabilisation period, there is not to much we can do for you at the moment.
Once you ten days are up though, and still see no speed increase, contact the mods here : https://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951
It takes up to 3 days to get a response from them either by email or phone.
Hopefully they will be able to get this sorted for you.
