Upgrading to Infinity so soon after becoming a new ADSL customer?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else has done the following.

Become a new BT ADSL customer (I transferred in from BE last month), got a £100 Sainsbury's card and 6 months free internet on an 18 month contract.

Contact that nga enquiries email thingy and be told that yes, contrary to all previous info, Infinity should hopefully be enabled on my cabinet (exchange is already enabled) sometime in August 2013.

By then, I won't yet have started paying for my broadband, but can I still upgrade? Is it like a mobile phone contract where I have to pay up if I want to change early?

Worth talking to sales and seeing what they come up with.

You will probably be allowed to recontract, starting a new 18 month contract but no penalty on the old.

You may lose out on your free months; realistically by the time things really happen there will probably only be 1 or so free months left anyway.

I am NOT a BT employee and this is only a guess of your situation.
