Hi everyone,
I have fibre broadband and get download speeds of around 27mb but low upload speeds of around 2mb.
My estimated upload speed is between 5 and 7mb but at 2mb it's pretty much unusable. If we try to upload photos to Flikr of the kids the internet stops, so we cannot upload or download. An engineer came out about a month ago and for about a week the speeds increased, 35mb download and 5.5mb upload. But now, back to 27mb and 2mb.
BT have said that there is no point lodging a complaint as it will be taken off the system because they don't have to do anything with upload speeds. I understand that they can't guarantee upload speeds, but surely they should guarantee it actually works, or what's the point in having it? Am I being unreasonable thinking that 2mb upload speed for fibre is poor?
Any help or ideas would be appreciated in terms of what I can do next please.
Many thanks.
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
run btspeedtester with ethernet connection and post results https://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com/
enter your phone number and post results remember to delete number https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
